I Tested Walter Writes AI — Can It Really Fool AI Detectors?

The Plan
Here’s what I did:
- Generate a short academic-style essay with ChatGPT.
- Scan it using two popular AI detectors — GPTZero and Quillbot.
- Humanize the same essay using Walter Writes AI.
- Rescan it and compare the before-and-after scores.
No tricks. Just a clean, real-time test.
Step 1: The Raw AI Essay
I started by prompting ChatGPT:
“Please write a 300-word essay on the topic of When will humans achieve artificial intelligence (ASI)?”
Within seconds, it produced a neatly structured, academic-sounding piece:
Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) refers to a level of intelligence that surpasses the best human minds…
It looked fine — but it also sounded exactly like an AI.
Phrases like “represents a milestone” and “widely debated in philosophy” instantly gave it away.
Then came the test.
- GPTZero: 100% AI-generated.
- Quillbot: 100% AI-generated.
Both detectors lit up in bright orange, like a digital siren screaming “Caught!”

So the question became: Can Walter Writes AI outsmart them?
Step 2: Using Walter Writes AI
I headed to the Walter Writes AI dashboard.
The interface is clean and minimal — just two main tools:
- Humanize AI Text
- Detect AI Text
There used to be a “NextGen Humanizer,” but it’s now replaced with a “More Tools” section promising additional AI features soon.
You can either paste text directly or upload a file.
For this test, I pasted the ChatGPT essay.
Then came a few interesting settings:

- Bypass Level: Simple, Standard, Enhanced.
I went with:

Clicked Humanize & Scan — and waited.
Step 3: The “Humanized” Output
After a few seconds, the new version appeared.
It was longer, more colorful, and noticeably… different.
Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) is the highest level of intelligence, exceeding the most intelligent human beings in every sphere…
It used uncommon phrases, varied sentence lengths, and even a few almost poetic turns like “the moral sea of consciousness.”
Clearly, the text had been deeply rewritten, not just rephrased.
Now came the real moment of truth.
Step 4: Testing Again
I pasted the new version back into GPTZero.
The result?
0% AI-generated. 100% Human.
Unbelievable.
Then I ran it through Quillbot.
Same thing — 100% Human.
That’s a perfect score from both major detectors.
In less than five minutes, Walter Writes AI turned a machine-written essay into something indistinguishable from human writing.
What Else Can It Do?
To its credit, Walter Writes AI packs a surprising number of features:
- Works with outputs from ChatGPT, Claude, and other major models.

While the software itself impressed me, the user feedback was… mixed.
